Nutrition and Exercise

This course aims to provide students with a thorough examination of the science of sports nutrition and exercise performance. Completion of this course enables students to plan dietary strategies to complement exercise regimen.

Intendes for athletes, trainers and coaches looking to improve the performance of themselves, their team or their clients through the implementation of sports nutrition strategies. Those who exercise and are interested in supplementing their exercise regimen with appropriate sports nutrition strategies.

Body composition, Carbohydrates and exercise, Protein, exercise and bulking up, Fats and exercise, Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants for athletes, Iron and the athlete, Bone density and exercise, Preparation for competition, Nutrition for recovery and the importance of rest, Importance of Hydration & Exercise, Sports supplements, Weight loss and making weight in exercise and sport, Importance of warming up / cooling down and stretching, How to personalise training programmes
