Whether you have just started your first year in college or are a postgraduate student or a mature student and if you have a passion for Camogie then you have come to the right place. Being part of a team offers students the chance to learn and shoe their team and leadership skills, as well as offering student’s a great way of making new friends. AIT GAA prides itself in providing a friendly fun environment for all players. In Camogie, AIT GAA is competing in two different leagues. They are Senior Camogie League and Fresher Camoige League.
The Camogie club has been very successful in recent years contesting Purcell Cup finals in 2004, 2006 and 2007. We were victorious in 2004 and 2007. For the 2007-08 campaign we were promoted into Division 1 of the league where we competed very well with some of the country’s top college teams. Four of our own Camogie Scholarship students will be involved in the All – Ireland finals later this year. Sarah Noone and Misread Dunne are with the Galway team which will play Cork in the Senior Final on the 14th of September. Fiona Stephens and Arlene Watkins play with Offaly who will contest the Junior Final with Clare also on the 14th of September. While the Fresher’s Team will also be competing in the second division of their league. So if you are interested in playing for the Camogie Team or if you are interested in helping out you can get in contact with us.
